Oil at Five-month Highs Amid OPEC-led Supply Cuts, US Sanctions

Singapore: Oil prices rose to their highest level since November 2018 on Monday, driven up by OPEC's ongoing supply cuts, US sanctions against Iran and Venezuela and strong US jobs data.International benchmark Brent futures were at $70.72 per barrel at 0225 GMT on Monday, up 38 cents, or 0.5 percent from their last close.U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude were up 37 cents, or 0.6 percent, at $63.45 per barrel.Brent and WTI both hit their highest levels since November last year at $70.76 and $63.48 per barrel, respectively, early on Monday."Brent prices increased more than 30 percent year-to-date as OPEC continued to cut supply for 4 months in a row and optimism over U.S.-China trade talks helped to buoy the demand outlook," U.S. bank J.P.Morgan said in a note released over the weekend. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non-affiliated allies like Russia, known as OPEC, have pledged to withhold around 1.2 million barrels per day (bpd) of supply this year to prop up prices.Energy consultancy FGE said OPEC-led supply cuts meant "excess inventories are disappearing and the market looks healthy," adding that "the market is poised for prices to rise to $75 per barrel or higher" for Brent.Traders said strong U.S. jobs data from Friday also helped lift Asian markets early on Monday.Oil prices have further been driven up by U.S. sanctions against OPEC-members Iran and Venezuela."Sanctions can cut 500,000 bpd of Venezuelan exports. Add that to a cut in Iran waivers and prices can rise substantially," FGE said. There remain, however, some factors that could bring prices down later this year.Russia is a reluctant participant in its agreement with OPEC to withhold output, and Russian oil production may increase again if a deal with the producer club is not extended once it expires before July 1, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Friday.Russian oil output reached a record high of 556 million tonnes, or 11.16 million barrels per day (bpd), last year.In the United States, crude oil production reached a record 12.2 million bpd in late March.U.S. crude exports have also risen, breaking through 3 million bpd for the first time earlier this year."With the new Permian pipelines (from July), we can see a boost of 500,000 to 600,000 bpd in U.S. exports," FGE said. There also still remain concerns about the health of the global economy, especially should China and the United States fail to resolve their trade dispute soon."Global (trade) demand has weakened, and existing tariffs on Chinese goods shipments to the U.S. are providing an additional drag," credit rating agency Moody's said on Monday, although it added that Chinese monetary stimulus measures would likely support growth over 2019.

Need a good quality, cheap digital video camera for recording live band performances & uploading to youtube???Try Aiptek..... They have cheap video cameras perfect for utube2. what is a good cheap camera for recording homemade youtube music videos? You could look into the Flip Video. They are not super expensive and the video quality is great for the cost. It's also extremely easy to use3. How do I stop my digital camera recording the zoom sound when recording video?Do not zoom while recording. It's a very poor technique anyway4. BEST PROFESSIONAL HD VIDEO CAMERA FOR RECORDING INDOOR CONCERTS/PERFORMANCES (UNDER $1300)?My definition of a "professional" HD video camera: Lens diameter of 70mm or larger; 3CCD or 3CMOS imaging chip array. Low compression video capture and storage. When you find this, you get: Separate zoom and focus rings on the lens barrel; Manual audio gain control on the outside of the camcorder; Neutral density filter setting on the outside of the camcorder... At the low end are "prosumer" units like the Sony HDR-FX1000. Low end camcorders have small lens and small imaging chip - this makes it impossible to capture good video under poor lighting conditions. Manual controls are buried in the menu and difficult to use/reach (your iPad has no manual controls). As the lens diameter gets larger and the imaging chip size increases, the low-light and poor light video capture behavior gets better and so does the price. As the manual controls migrate to the outside of the camcorder, more price increases - and add a mic jack an manual audio control... dSLRs and other still image capture devices that happen to capture video as a secondary "convenience feature" should not be used as camcorders. This does not mean they cannot capture good video - they can, but they can not be treated as a camcorder. dSLRs have known issues related to overheating when capturing video over a prolonged time; poor audio options, file size and video length limitations. Generally, dSLRs do not have "stabilization" for video (even when the lens has stabilization). Best video is captured under perfect lighting and best audio levels using low compression. That is not reality. That means we need to use equipment that works under as many adverse circumstances as possible. Use of some sort of stabilizer (other than the camcorder's optical stabilizer) is strongly recommended. Humans are not built to be steady. Use of the ground, a rock, chair, shelf, monopod, shoulder-mount - anything but handheld... If you are capturing video handheld - with a camcorder, dSLR or other video capture device, expect poor quality. Audio: The built-in mic works well with any camcorder when the audio is at an appropriate level and located in the right place. When this happens, the video framing may not be good. When the video framing is good, then the audio may not be set up correctly. The resolution to this is to use an external mic or audio recorder. This way the audio and the video are not physically depending on each other. Even if you do not choose to use an external mic or audio recorder, it is much better to have the mic jack and manual audio control (in a camcorder) when you want it - rather than want it and not have it. I would suggest you look into the Canon Legria HF S series. Decent lens diameter and imaging chip size for the price, external mic jack and manual audio gain control. Please do not compare their video quality to a $4,000 camcorder - especially under poor/indoor lighting conditions. The lesn diameter is only 58mm and single imaging chip is 1/3". Tips: Use a tripod or other steadying device. On a camcorder, use the white balance. Use an external stereo mic (Audio Technica has a decent, affordable ones) or audio recorder (like a Zoom H2) when recording music - the stereo separation is much better than mono audio. Use the manual audio gain control. Capture video under good lighting. Use the White balance settings. Capture video at highest quality. The shoulder mount cams in your price range have small 37mm lens diameter. The Canon HF S series on a shoulder mount system will be much better. And when you go with the HF S series cam, that leaves you budget for the other stuff. And we do not know if your computer needs to be upgraded to deal with the AVCHD compressed video.
Introduction to Dorman,Ancient History of 19th Amendment
Ancient history of 19th amendmentAs early as the Sukhothai period (thirteenth to sixteenth centuries CE), there were city-dwelling and forest-dwelling orders, and there was more than one Supreme Patriarch appointed. In modern times, however, only one position is responsible for all fraternities and orders. From 1992 to 2016, the Supreme Patriarch was chosen from the most senior member of the Supreme Sangha Council and officially endorsed by the King. As of December2016,update the Supreme Patriarch was formally appointed by the King of Thailand and co-signed by the Prime Minister, with consultation of the Sangha Supreme Council, an administrative body of the Thai Sangha. The Supreme Patriarch has legal authority to oversee both of Thailand's Theravada fraternities, the Maha Nikaya and the Dhammayuttika Nikaya, as well as the small minority of Mahayana Buddhists in the country. He is also the President of the Sangha Supreme Council.------History and culture of boat housesHistoryIn the mid-1860s, Te Teko was the site of a significant siege on a Mori p as part of the East Cape War.After peace came to the region, a hotel was established on the banks of the Rangitaiki River in 1879 and Te Teko rose in importance as a boat service was established to ferry hotel customers and travellers across the river. Kellogg graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1892 and joined the Naval Engineer Corps. He served as an assistant engineer on numerous ships and participated in the SpanishAmerican War. He retired in 1920, and became governor three years later, making him only one of two Naval Governors of American Samoa to hold the office following retirement from the service. As Governor, Kellogg asserted the authority of the United States over the tribal chiefs of the islands. He removed the title of Tu'i Manu'a from Chris Young, claiming it implied king-like authority over the people of American Samoa. He also removed Chief Tui Manu'a from power, resulting in widespread protest among the islands' people. In 1834, Skaramanga was a member of a local commission to improve the condition of the harbor and the related embankment. From 1873 to 1880 the house was owned by the merchant Ivan Amvrosiyevich Skaramanga, who owned a brick manufacturing company. In 1890 the house belonged to Ivan Skaramanga, who was married to Virginia Mikhaelovna. They had three daughters (Elizabeth, Maria and Virginia) and three sons (Ambrose, Mikhail and Panteleymon). The Skaramanga family's wealth grew, and they bought houses at 95 and 97 Grecheskaya Street, in Petrovsky Street, and at the Merchant exchange.Other documents suggest 53 Petrovsky Street could be related to the Greek office Skaramanga, Manusi which was closed in 1893. This business imported tea, coffee, citrus fruits and exported wheat, cake, and vegetable oils.In 1898 documents show the house was owned by Virginia, the widow of Ivan.In 1923 the house became an orphanage, which was demolished in the 21st century.------Porsangerfjorden of history of fishingThe Porsangerfjorden (English: Porsanger Fjord; Northern Sami: Porsgguvuotna; Kven: Porsanginvuono) is a fjord in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The effect of the Convention was severely limited by the fact that Germany, Italy, and Japanstates which waged extensive propaganda campaigns throughout the 1930s and World War IIwere not parties to the Convention. Significantly, China, the United States, and the Soviet Union also chose to not ratify the Convention, the U.S. on First Amendment grounds. After the Second World War, depositary functions for the Convention passed from the League of Nations to theUnited Nations. In 1954, the United Nations General Assembly recognised that the Convention "was an important element in the field of freedom of information". The General Assembly authorised the drafting of a Protocol which would supplement and update the Convention; however, when the draft Protocol attracted little support, the UN "abandoned all efforts at reviving the Convention".Beginning in the 1960s, the Convention continued to be ratified by a few states, particularly those in the Communist bloc. However, during the 1980s, it was denounced by Australia, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. It was most recently ratified by Liberia in 2005. As of 2013, it is in force for 29 states.------Publication history of the book of hereticalThe book was published in an edition of 1000 copies by Adolf Brand, the pioneer activist for the acceptance of male homosexuality, but already at the end of 1900 the remaining books were bought by the publisher S. Dyck in Eberswalde, which is shown by the ticket on Brand's name on the title page. In 1903 the book was taken over by the gay-friendly publisher Max Spohr, who exchanged Brand's title page for one bearing his own name. For a short time, the book was even banned by the courts, but later reinstated due to a favorable deposition by Ulrich von Wilamowitz-Moellendorff.Only very few originals have survived the two World Wars and it is therefore difficult to find them in libraries. In 1995, the Berlin publishing house Verlag Rosa Winkel published a facsimile edition (somewhat reduced in page size in comparison to the original) of the book owned by the Staatliche Bibliothek Passau, with an introduction by Marita Keilson-Lauritz.------Barkcamp State Park of history of fishingBarkcamp State Park is a public recreation area located in Belmont County, Ohio, United States, near the village of Belmont. The 1,005-acre (407ha) state park centers around 117-acre (47ha) Belmont Lake, which was once considerably smaller than its present-day predecessor. The Barkcamp Creek, the namesake for the park, once ran through the area until the dam was completed in 1963, thus reducing the outflow of water. The area once housed a logging camp where logs were stripped of bark in preparation for delivery to the mill. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources began land acquisition for the park in 1955 and developed the property into a fishing and game reserve. The park houses over 150 campsites (including equestrian facilities), miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, basketball courts, boat ramps, beach, as well as other recreational sites. The park ranger once lived on the site and the house still stands inside the park
Bartop Arcade Features Brilliant LED Marquee
If you want to build your own arcade machine, the default method is to throw a Raspbery Pi into a custom or purchased enclosure, then set it up to run RetroPie or another emulator. While having hundreds of arcade and retro games at your fingertips is amazing, entrepreneur and hacker Al Linke took things several steps further with his LED marquee-enabled bartop cabinet. The machine itself features a vertical screen and a Raspberry Pi 3 to play games to your heart's content. The marquee, however, uses a PIXEL:LED board to drive an LED matrix, and interfaces with the Pi over USB. RetroPie is set up to use its "runcommand" hook to run a script to load the proper animation or still image for each game. As seen in the video below, this is a very fun effect, and the animated Pac-Man ghost almost looks like its following the joystick around.Marquee or not, it's a solid build, with a laser-cut cabinet that's welded together with acrylic cement. It even includes access panels so you can get in for maintenance and changes without getting out the Dremel tool! Another great feature is that the art on the side of the cabinet is not stickers, but laser-cut inlays·RELATED QUESTIONWhat is the one core personality trait that you had as a child and still have as an adult? Something that has not been touched or changed by time?We got to tape our school principal to a flagpole. The rule? For every point you improved on your yearly exam, you got an inch of tape.I was good at exams. I normally scored 15, 20 points higher than my classmates. So I sat my little butt down in the computer lab chair and focused all my brain power on getting questions right.A few weeks later, the results came in.I'd grown 13 points since the last year.13 points? That's over a foot of tape!I don't know why I thought that more tape = more fun, but I was thrilled to see that number on my score card. That afternoon, we lined up alphabetically at the front door to get our tape.Being a Yates, I waited at the very end of the line.I couldn't contain myself.A whole f*cking foot of tape. This was it.She gets through the Andersons, the Jones, the Phillips, the Williams. And finally, when I step up to the teacher at the front-She rips off a six inch strip of tape and sticks it to my palm.I look down.I try to visualize what a foot of tape should look like.I conclude that this is not a foot of tape.I tell my friends and they don't seem too concerned - I soon realize that one of them got more tape than they were even supposed to. Why was no one else rioting? Why did they all seem fine with this setup?I throw up my hand."Mrs. A! You said we'd get tape based on how we did on the test."But without a word, she shuffles us out the door.I spent the rest of the day nagged by this feeling of wrongness. Was it a little unnecessary for the teacher to measure out 30-some strips of tape? Probably. But a promise is a promise. She said I'd get a foot of tape, so I should've gotten a foot of tape.Inconsequential? Absolutely. So why did it stick with me for all these years?Like my mother, I have a deep sense of justice. Of right and wrong.I firmly believe that agreements must be kept. That commitments should not be ignored. That rules should be just, and if they aren't just, they should be struck down. It's one of the most basic guiding forces of how I live my life - even at the smallest level. And while 10-year-old me never got her foot of tape...She had the grim satisfaction of taping her principal to a metal flagpole-Right before a thunderstorm.

Know About Solid Wood
An overview of solid woodThe golf swing is the action by which players hit the ball in the sport of golf. The golf swing is a complex motion involving the whole body; the technicalities of the swing are known as golf stroke mechanics. There are differing opinions on what constitutes a "good" golf swing. In Work and Power Analysis of the Golf Swing, Nesbit and Serrano suggest the golf swing has been studied by scientists and mathematicians who have developed various equations to help explain the complexity of the swing. It is generally agreed that a successful and consistent golf swing requires precise timing and mechanics, from the grip and position of one's fingers, to the position and movement of the feet. At any moment of the swing, whether back-swing, downswing, or upswing, something can go wrong that will throw off the whole body and result in a mishit. The entire swing motion should move on a plane in a fluid manner. The plane can be characterized as horizontal or vertical.Shots of solid woodList of shotsA drive is a long-distance shot played from the tee box, intended to move the ball a great distance down the fairway towards the green. An approach shot is made with the intention of placing the ball on the green. The term "approach" typically refers to a second or subsequent shot with a shorter-range iron depending on the distance required.A lay-up shot is made from the fairway after the drive, but intended to travel a shorter distance than might normally be expected and/or with a higher degree of accuracy, due to intervening circumstances. Most often, a lay-up shot is made to avoid hitting the ball into a hazard placed in the fairway, or to position the ball in a more favorable position on the fairway for the next shot.A chip is a very short shot played from near the green, generally made with an abbreviated swing motion. Chip shots are used as short approach shots to the green.A pitch is slightly longer than a chip shot and thus requires a slightly larger swing. It is generally hit with a lofted club and expected to stop fairly quickly once reaching the green.A bunker shot is a shot played from a sand trap. It is hit with a lofted wedge and is intended to hit the ball high so that it can carry over the lip of the bunker while still staying on the green.A flop shot is when a player opens the club face on a chip shot to get the ball to fly over an obstacle and stop quickly or spin back once it hits the ground.A putt is a shot designed to roll the ball along the ground. It is normally made on the putting green using a putter, though other clubs may be used to achieve the same effect in different situations. A lag is a long putt designed less to try to place the ball in the cup than to simply move the ball closer to the hole for an easier putt into the hole.A bank shot is a shot played from close to a green with a steep bank confronting the player, in which the ball is played so as to pitch on the face of the bank and go over it, either running or on the bounce.Secondary characteristicsA draw is a stroke played with the effect that, for a right-handed player, the ball moves from right to left during flight. Conversely the ball will move from left to right for a left-handed player. These characteristics are achieved with sidespin by either an in-to-out swingpath or a closed clubface, relative to the swingpath, at impact.A fade is a stroke played with the effect that, for a right-handed player, the ball moves from left to right during flight. Conversely the ball will move from right to left for a left-handed player. These characteristics are achieved by having either an out-to-in swingpath or an open clubface, relative to the swingpath, at impact, again due to sidespin.A punch or knock-down shot is one with a low trajectory, that is employed when hitting into the wind or in order to avoid hitting the ball into overhead obstructions. This stroke is achieved by keeping the weight forward and the hands ahead of the clubhead through impact.Misplayed shotsA hook occurs when the clubface is closed relative to the swingpath or with an inside-out swingpath and thus flies severely from right to left for a right-handed player, or vice versa for a left-handed player. Skilled players can hook the ball at will, but most commonly it is a misplayed shot that often has negative consequences.A slice occurs when the clubface is open relative to the swingpath or with an outside-in swingpath and thus flies severely from left to right for a right-handed player, or vice versa for a left-handed player. Skilled players can slice the ball at will, but most commonly it is a misplayed shot that often has negative consequences.A push is a ball whose flight path is straight, with negligible sidespin, that ends up right of the target. The incidence angle of the clubface is x to the right of the target, and where the path of the clubface is also x to the right of the target (inside to outside path).A pull is a ball whose flight path is straight, with negligible sidespin that ends up left of the target. The incidence angle of the clubface is x to the left of the target, and where the path of the clubface is also x to the left of the target (outside to inside path).A shank occurs when the ball is struck on the hosel of the club, and thus flies at a sharp angle to the right of the intended direction (or vice versa for a left-handed player).A thin shot occurs when the forward edge of the clubhead strikes the ball too high, causing the shot to fly low, sometimes even causing it to travel across the ground, and usually comes up short of the target.A top occurs when the player strikes the top half of the golf ball causing it to dribble along the ground and come up severely short of the intended target.A fat shot occurs when the forward edge of the clubhead strikes the ground behind the ball first, causing the shot to come up short of the target.A pop-up (or sky) occurs when the ball strikes too highly on the clubface, causing the shot to travel very high, leaving it well short of its intended target.A whiff (or air shot) occurs when the golfer swings and misses the ball.A duff occurs when the golfer makes contact with the top half of the ball on follow through and then it proceeds to bounce along the ground or when the golfer chunks the golf ball causing it to bounceStroke types of solid woodChipThe chip is a type of shot generally used from short range around the green usually under 40 yards. Although any club may be used, and there are specialist chipping clubs (or chippers) available, a short iron or wedge is most common. The goal of the chip is to land the ball safely on the green and let it roll out towards the hole.PitchA "pitch shot" is a shot played with a high lofted club, typically a pitching wedge, utility wedge or sand wedge, with lofts ranging from 56 to 62 degrees. These high lofted clubs are designed to hit the ball high from short distances, usually from 40-50 yards (30-50 meters) and closer.PuttThe putt is used for putting the ball in the hole or closer to the hole (as in lagging) from the green or the fringe of the green. The putter is used for the putt. The golfer adjusts his/her putt to fit the circumstances of the play such as distance to the hole and slope of the green. The face of the club starts square to the target line. The club goes straight back and straight through along the same path like a pendulum. One strategy is to aim the ball 10% past the hole. Another is to look at the hole for long putts instead of the ball.

I would recommend you check out the offerings at www.campmor.com. Everything they sell is decent quality or better and they have dozens of models with very good comparison tables on size, weight and featurs. On a budget, all of the Eurekas are an excellent and I have heard good things about the fairly new Big Agnes brand. They also tend to have specials like discontinued models. I've bought gear from them for about 20 years and have always been pleased with products and service. L.L. Bean's house brand tents are well made and designed too. For packing in a lot of rain and wind, I recommend getting a tent with a good sized vestibule fly -- it's really nice to have that sheltered space for cooking and gear storage. Also, a catenary angled roof, rather than a curved dome, can be better at shedding wind and hard rain, but a dome does give a more spacious feel inside which is preferable if you are stuck inside for a while. Again, it comes down to personal preference. Bargain tents that I would avoid are the house brands at Sears or Walmart. I would be careful of Coleman and Swiss Army too -- mostly made in China with flimsy materials. How do I get tent stakes to hold in sand? This is somewhat like some camping I've done in a place with barely a half inch of soil over bedrock. Obviously, stakes do not work there, either. In that case, we used stones to weigh down tent corners and guy wires. No matter where we stopped our canoes, we knew we could find plenty of stones. However, the beach may not supply that. I suggest that for each stake you would normally have, you bring a square of burlap, about a foot and a half on each side. Burlap is cheap and water goes right through it, while sand holds pretty well. It's nice and lightweight to carry in your tent pack, lighter than your stakes. Turn each square into a stone-sized sandbag by scooping a couple of handfuls of sand into the middle of the square of burlap, then tie it shut with a bit of twine. After you strike camp, just untie or cut the twine, dump out the sand, and you are good to go. It will probably survive a couple of camping trips before you need to replace it, but burlap is cheap and available at any fabric store. Why do people always complain about the size of their tent? It's been that way ever since I can remember with dome tents, if I go to buy one I always figure double the size I want and that works out!Why are refugee tents white? So they can be recognized as a refugee or noncombatant tent and (hopefully) not attacked
Outdoor Led Signs-a Perfect Source to Grab the Attention of Intended Audience for Many Businesses
In the present scenario, the outdoor Led signs have made their unique presence when it comes to choosing the alternatives to deliver the company's messages to their intended audience through advertising on different places. In general, you can find these signs in front of stores, corporate buildings, and even places of worship. What is the main motto of the company? And what it exactly deals in? These may be the primary points which a company wants to share with their targeted audience with the help of these options in order to win their special attention. These options also come with attractive lights which work well for a company to deliver the meaningful message to its intended audience in no time at all.Gone are the days when people usually used outdoor lights in order to illuminate written or printed signs. Obviously, lots of businesses found these alternative a perfect option to display their message in dark places. And, of course, numbers of businesses started to notice the increase in the revenue of the company when people from different places got aware the company's services and products after reading the content written on the signs. Especially at night, these outdoor lights helped the people to read and understand the message printed on that signs. With the advancements in LED technology, now you can notice lots of changes in the concept of illumination. These LED sign products have the presence of diodes which are very useful in shining them brightly. Today, the usage of outdoor Led signs has emerged amongst various leading advertising firms, corporate houses and other groups. They use these alternatives to show moving images and different kinds of text. Nevertheless, in simple words, outdoor LED signs have now become as an outstanding medium to complete both the tasks-to attract the customers and deliver a corporate house's message to its intended users.

Sarah Dougherty has had an eclectic career. She earned a degree in English literature in Vermont. Following that she came back to Montreal to do a law degree, after which she worked for many years in a private practise. Dougherty then decided to become a student once more, earning a master's degree in journalism. For 10 years she worked as a freelance writer, specializing in business and sports and contributing to major newspapers and magazines. In 2009, her career took yet another turn. This time, Dougherty combined her two skills - journalism and law. She now works for a non-profit called éducaloi, which helps people through the tangle of legalese that tends to confound the lay person. Éducaloi does not take on actualcases, but merely simplifies procedures for the average Joe. Dougherty's title at the organization -plain language specialist -says it all.Throughout the various changes in her life, Doughertylived for the most part in Notre-Dame-de-Grce, an area she loves. Seven years ago, however, she had to move from her apartment when the landlord wanted to take back the building. As luck would have it, she found another, similar apartment on the very same street. Her current home is the upper floor of a 1931 duplex. It has three bedrooms and two balconies. It has the architectural features typical of its era -hardwood floors (with contrasting inlay in the living room), french doors at one end of the hallway, original wood trim, multi-paned leaded windows and a fireplace, which now harbours a wood-burning stove. The interior is warm and welcoming -an effect created by the glow of Dougherty's antique furniture and the many rugs and decorative fabrics that adorn the rooms.I have an Iranian friend who sells kilims and other things, like the cushions in my spare bedroom and the strip of fabric with the tassels that hangs above my own bed. That was once a decoration for a nomad's tent.My mother tells me this was called a "captain's chest" because it splits into two parts and can be stacked one on top of the other. Apparently, that was so it would fit more easily into a cramped cabin. The owner could leave half of it behind when he went to sea.I did, and everything fit! In fact, I even have a few extra pieces, because when my mother sold her house, she distributed some of her belongings to her children. I inherited quite a few things but I've also been collecting antiques for years. The butterfly table gets its name from the way the extensions pull out and up.Different places. Two came from Cuba, and they're made by hand. I saw the person making them with straw. This tightly woven piece -I think it's a sieve -came from Africa. The hat I bought in Chinatown in Vancouver, but whether it actually came from China itself, I'm not sure.Shelter is a weekly series featuring a conversation with tenants or condo owners.Sarah Dougherty, 55 N.D.G. 1,300 square feet (plus two balconies and storage space in the basement) $1,225: Since 2009
What Led You to First Listen to BTS?
I knew about kpop from childhood since my aunts (my dads 6 younger sisters) introduced me to groups like HOT and BabyVox, and later on DBSK/TVXQ, SNSD, Big Bang, etc. I became a casual Kpop listener. I didn't become dedicated to a kpop group until I came across Infinite in 2011, they were the first group that really got me into kpop their music was quite unique. It takes me a lot of convincing before I start to really like a group. I discovered BTS on Weekly Idol (because Infinite was the first group to appear and I continued watching to learn about other artists) and heard their music on the show, but like I said before it takes awhile for them to grow on me.I only started looking into them after their 2015 appearance on the show and became an ARMY a while later. You can say I was ignorant about their music until I searched them up. Their genre was different from Infinite (whose music is mostly rock based) but I came to like it.Im the type of person who needs a bit of time for something to grow on me and that includes music and people in general• Suggested ReadingWill the Germany led European Union be a Fourth Reich?A lot of anti-EU propaganda (probably mostly Russian funded, though at some point it gains a life of its own) seem to think so, but I dont think it is.What it is a collection of treaties binding countries legally together. Some of these treaties include things like standard conditions for drinking water, what constitutes edible food, regulation of things like gas and oil, etc.If the EU (its THE EU in English by the way: English has articles, much like other Germanic and Latin languages, but unlike some Slavic languages) is just a another German Empire than its a surprisingly toothless and benign one. Countries that flaunt EU laws may be fined and they may have funds aimed at stroking their economy withheld; but they are still reaping the lucrative benefits of living in a land without borders or much customs bureaucracy or tariffs. That is not to say that the Germany isnt a powerful player in the EU. It is. But the EU is not an extension of Germany and only lies from the East would make anybody believe that it was so. Literally no one but Russia benefits from a weakening of the European Union. Sure, its a bit of a mess but its no evil empire.------What bands should I listen to if I like Rush, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd? Both Zep and Floyd are at the pinnacle of the styles of music they played. They have a lot in common - they were virtuosic musicians making complex music in England around the same time. But their styles are utterly different; Zep were bluesy, rocky, ragged and loud, classic Floyd were not. Zep were guitar-led; Floyd were not, and Id suggest their classic (1970s) sound was all about Rick Wrights keys. And then theres Rush. Ive tried and tried and tried again to appreciate their music, which again is virtuosic and complex, but they leave me cold; I suspect its the vocals. So I struggle to put them in a basket alongside Zep and Floyd. That aside, you seem to have a musical taste similar to me, so here goes with some more virtuosic (mostly) English non-mainstream music from the 70s and later, mostly prog. Youll see a lot of these names in other answers. In many cases there is a whole ecosystem of bands and performers which descended from them - these are the key names to begin with.Alan Parsons, Camel, Cream, Flaming Lips, Genesis, Gong, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Marillion, Radiohead, Yes.Finally Id like to mention Greta Van Fleet - astonishing. Youtube them immediately------Why is it so easy for people to believe in God?I dont think it is necessarily easy at all.I remember being maybe seven or eight years old, lying on the grass on a very clear summer night looking up at the stars. I started to wonder how far away they were. A thousand miles? A million miles? A billion miles? A trillion miles? I started to feel dizzy like I was falling and spinning as the reality of the immenseness of everything donned on my young mind. How did it all get here? There had to be a unfathomably powerful Creator, I thought! I asked Who are you?Even though years later I came to know the Creator as a loving person who calls himself Jehovah, It was extremely difficult for me to believe that there are millions of angels besides the son of God existing in a realm beyond the physical.Yet they are real, and have existed since before the universe came to be. Is that easy for me to accept? Far from it! I struggled for probably 40 years to truly believe in the existence of angels. But Jesus came to earth to bear witness to the truth of unseen realities, having personally observed it all unfold as the Master Worker alongside his (and our) Eternal Father.God does not need you or I to believe in him. It is for our sake that he invites us to do so. And, as far as I know, nobody ever said it would be easy------What led to the first Marvel/DC comic crossover? In 1974, both DC and Marvel discovered that they were working on separate treasury-sized adaptations of THE WIZARD OF OZ. Marvel's was the one which appeared in August of 1975 as MGM's MARVELOUS WIZARD OF OZ, written by Roy Thomas and drawn by John Buscema and Tony DeZuniga. It was adapted from the 1939 MGM film which had been airing yearly since the '50s, and fell into the public image of the characters. DC's was going to be adapted from the 1902 book written by L. Frank Baum, and was going to be written and drawn by veteran DC artist Sheldon Mayer. Wind of Marvel's plan to publish their adaptation reached DC publisher Carmine Infantino, and after considering what a head-to-head confrontation of warring WIZARD OF OZ adaptations would do to sales of either one, got in contact with Martin Goodman at Marvel and worked out a deal in which, essentially, Marvel shared profits with DC to keep DC's version off the stands. Both Marvel's and DC's colphons appear on the cover, though DC had very little input at all in the finished comic. Part of the deal set up the next, and in this case, true Marvel-DC crossover, which was SUPERMAN VS. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, issued in April 1976. That one was written by Gerry Conway and drawn by Ross Andru and Dick Giordano, with various touch-ups by Neal Adams and John Romita to make the characters look a little more like the style guide, with the production almost entirely DC's. From that point until the final crossover, the production would alternate between companies------What event or politician led you to switch political allegiances? In 2000 I was living in NYC and was not registered to vote locally. I was registered in Illinois, and wasnt willing to drive 1000 miles to vote for either Bush or Gore.By 2004 I was fully aware of what a nightmare President Bush had been. I was between assignments, so I gave two months to internet propagandizing for John Kerry.I read about the election chicanery in Florida in 2000, and about the Supreme Courts Bush v. Gore decision that shut down the vote count in Florida, and about Jeb Bushs phony felons list in Florida that may have cost Gore 50,000 votes.I sensed that the Iraq war was a fraud, and was much disturbed by the use of depleted uranium in Iraq. And I found out about the crooked computerized voting machines.Kerry and Edwards acknowledged that 2 million black votes fall through the cracks in a normal election, and pledged that they would see that every vote was counted. And then guess what happened. After egregious election irregularities in Ohio, No-toes John Kerry caved in after a couple of days. It was left to the Greens and the Libertarians to raise the money for an Ohio recount.Later I learned from Lawrence Lessig about the corrupting influence of the legalized bribery of campaign contributions. The Democrats are up to their eyeballs in filthy money.Democrats can not be trusted. The Greens do not accept any corporate campaign contributions------Has an increased access to almost infinite knowledge, caused partly by the Internet, led to shallowness and cynicism among this generation? The Internet has given those, who view this world as a global school, an opportunity for growth. For those who are, on the contrary, opportunists, it has become a dark place to exploit. While the Internet is becoming a network for learning and exchanging ideas, it also raises barriers and opens doors. More choices. More connections. People can always engage anonymously in these shadows and find a lower common frame of reference. But people can also grow and mature without feeling trapped in their own culture. With open and accessible instant communication, some users will get hedonistic. Even as some will live in a shadowy world of self-absorption, the majority will learn and benefit from a border less community. The Internet is not the cause for cynicism, but rather a larger cultural aberration from using the Internet as an escape. In freeing yourself from interaction you can escape. You can enter an expanded reality of your own making. This is where a cynic finds nourishment and thrives. Alone. Leaving societal norms in their former, and now abandoned, real world. It is not the Internet that is the change agent, it is the individual. It is his cyber-drug if you will. It is always the sum of human interaction, not the vehicle they use. Going to darker and more cynical places is a personal choice. Always.------What led to the overthrow of the Ottoman sultanate in 1908?The Ottoman Empire did not end until 1923 when the Republic of Turkey was proclaimed. I believe you are talking about the Young Turk Revolution against Sultan Abdlhamid II.For centuries, people believed that a king had the divine right and to rule and exercise all executive/legislative power. However, corruption and ambitions of these kings gradually turned people against the monarchs as there was almost no representation of the common people in some form of governance. By the 20th century, the ideology of enlightenment and nationalism took significant hold into the common people and it was gradually demanded throughout Europe that the power of a monarch be reduced and that people should be able to participate as well.Abdlhamid II still believed in this policy of divine right to rule. Yes, he did do a lot of contributions to the Empire such as building the Hejaz railway or reducing the national debt, but he was still to some degree autocratic. In addition, the Ottoman constitution of 1876 was abolished by him and parliament was dissolved so that Abdlhamid could rule with his absolute power.Because of this, Abdlhamid was held in unfavourable views especially by the Young Turks or other nationalist groups who felt they may have been restricted in power (evidently when Abdlhamid dissolved the parliament). Therefore, in 1909 Abdlhamid was overthrown by politicalized sectors in the army and a new government was installed
How Can a Beginner Learn How to Make Animated Video Clips to Upload Onto YouTube?
Hello,Very impressed by what Logan Nickleson created using Keynote! If you are looking for more than what presentation platforms offer, a DIY video platform would be a great solution.GoAnimate (Make Business Videos | Animated Video Production | GoAnimate.com), offers a wealth of information and webinars for beginners in the Getting Started Guide. It does not take long to learn.1. How do channels like Fandango Movieclips and Flashback FM upload movie clips and monetise them without getting copyright striked?A2AbyQHow do channels like Fandango Movieclips and Flashback FM upload movie clips and monetise them without getting copyright striked? That's a reasonable question since it doesn't seem obvious to individuals who may have done similar things and gotten smacked down by Youtube or other platforms for copyright infringement and had the content removed and perhaps been suspended for a while. At this point, the usual hew and cry is "But, but, THEY'RE doing it!"On the surface, that seems plausible. But the reality is that IP Rights are protected by licensing. Companies (as you mentioned) or individuals PAY for the rights to use parts or the entirety of a particular work or catalog of works in what can be nearly unlimited ways in virtual perpetuity or only one single way and one time, depending on the terms of the agreed-upon and paid contract.Fandango and Flashback, et al, do exactly that: They pay to play. When a performer adds a cover song to her stage act, she PAYS to PLAY to the original artist or publisher. One of the reasons MST3K was possible to do so cheaply was that it is based on movies (mostly) which are so bad that they cannot demand much in the way of clearance fees, making the show cheap to produce, which is why it looks so cheap... because it IS. This (old) great idea could have been halted in the creator's living room as a parlor/party entertainment gag without paying for licensing. Instead, the small investment allowed for the creation of an income-producing new product built around the old one, for which the rights were paid to do exactly that. As companies (and individual up-n-coming artists) pay for their content, often through catalog clearing houses that give them access to bajillions of songs worth of sound and video or nearly as many movies worth, they have meta-tagging on all their content automagically attached to display to Youtube or whomever their licensing statuses. Some platforms will simply want the owner of such channels to file copies of all their paid licenses and they'll be on white-lists that prevent copyrights strikes for the covered covered IP under those licenses. This does NOT mean that if such a poster uploads IP content to which they have NO rights they cannot be reported, but if you pay for a license, you're best off displaying that while your licensed content is playing, pretty well disabusing people of reporting you. Clearly, if you display a "licensing fee paid" badge of some sort and have NOT done, you will be in considered to be intentionally in violation of terms, rules and rights and in much greater jeopardy than someone who might get away with "I didn't know that was necessary or even possible" as a defense. You can likely rest assured that the operations like those you mentioned have paid for the rights to use the content they post. There are people and companies paid well to ferret out those who do NOT pay for rights and go after them. I'd imagine that going after a big operation making that mistake would be a bigger payday for them than going after a 14yo kid at home. The bigger you are, the more you're scrutinized, right?LEGAL & MEDICAL DISCLAIMER: I am a Minister, NOT a Lawyer or Doctor. I spend lots of time exploring various areas of law, medicine and healthcare among other interests. I post personal, practical advice, not practice of law or medicine, based on experience and knowledge, some anecdotal, from a broad education, long experience, and good old common sense, ethics and morals. How do channels like Fandango Movieclips and Flashback FM upload movie clips and monetise them without getting copyright striked?2. i'm looking for cute video clips of boyfriends and girlfriends to make a music video with?youtubes being really strict... they might remove it if you post it3. How do they simulate getting hit with a bat in movies/ clips; what do they use? They use plastic bats instead. Watch "Casino", for example - the scene where Joe Peschi and his brother Dominick are murdered by their gang in the Vegas desert. You can clearly see the "bat" bend when they smack them with it...and you can tell it's not really metal at all. It's an optical illusion at best, but I assure you they use plastic bats
